Football is back.

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers pumps his fist during the Packers-Saints game at Lambeau Field on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011. Rodgers threw three touchdown passes in Green Bay’s 42-34 victory.

Scoring was not difficult to come by for either team in the season opener. In addition to Rodgers’ spectacular performance, Packers running back James Starks rushed for 57 yards and one touchdown while wide receivers Greg Jennings and Jordy Nelson each caught one touchdown pass.

Saints quarterback Drew Brees passed for three touchdowns and 419 yards in the losing effort. New Orleans wide receiver Devery Henderson racked up 100 yards receiving on the night and recorded his first touchdown reception of the season.

Now off to a 1-0 start, the Packers are hoping to become the first team since the 2003-04 New England Patriots to win back-to-back Super Bowl titles.

  1. I think the Packers have a great chance to repeat. Rodgers and the offense are unstoppable and the defense is much better than they showed last night. They can beat teams in so many different ways and have a ton of weapons. Throw in Randall Cobb now that he’s taken over the return game and the Pack look scary.
I would really appreciate some feedback on my blog @ http://manello33.wordpress.com/
